How It Works
A plain-language guide to requesting your site, what you get, how to make changes yourself, and how to move to your own domain when you're ready.
1. Requesting a site
Fill out the form on the homepage with your business name, contact info, and the trade or template that fits you best. If none of the templates feel like a perfect match, you can instead paste up to three websites you like — either way, submit the form and your site is created immediately. There's no waiting period and no design phase; you get a real, working website on the spot.
2. What you get
Your new site lives at sites.buildingbetter.software/s/<your-business>/ and includes a home page, a services page, an about page, a service areas page, and a contact page — all pre-filled with starter content for your trade and your business details. You'll also receive a private admin login by email (and shown on-screen right after signup) so you can start editing immediately.
3. Editing your content
Go to /admin/ at the end of your site's address and log in with the username (your email) and password from your welcome message. From there you can change:
- Every headline, paragraph, and list of services on every page
- Your business name, phone, email, and address
- Your accent color, which updates the whole site's look
- Your homepage and about-page images (upload your own photos)
- The search-engine details for each page: page title, meta description, and the title/description/image used when your site is shared on social media
Changes save the moment you click "Save Changes" and appear on your live site immediately — no publishing step, no waiting.
4. Custom domains
Every site works right away at its sites.buildingbetter.software address, so you can start sharing it immediately. If you'd rather use your own domain (like www.yourbusiness.com), enter it under the Settings tab in your admin panel and reach out to us. Attaching a domain is a quick manual step on our end — done that way on purpose so no one's domain or DNS records can be changed automatically by mistake. Once it's attached, your existing address keeps working as a backup.
Questions
If anything on your site looks wrong or you're not sure how to change something, reach out through the contact form of the business that referred you here, or to whoever set up your site.
